Oyster Bay Marlborough Vineyards Limited was promoted and formed by Delegat's Wine Estate Limited, New Zealand’s 3rd largest winemaker in May of 1999.
9,000,000 shares were offered to the public, successfully raising NZ$18,000,000.
Delegat's has a 50.1% shareholding and the company is listed on the NZAX Alternative Market - security code OBV.

OBV is a dedicated grape grower and owns three significant vineyard properties in the prime central Wairau Valley, in the heart of Marlborough. The company has 535 hectares of vines planted and Delegat's have contracted to purchase all the grapes produced from the company's vineyards at market values for a minimum period of 20 years.
The Super Premium grape varieties produced in the OBV vineyards are the renowned Marlborough varieties - sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and pinot noir. All of these grapes are marketed under the Oyster Bay label.
The day-to-day management of the company and its vineyards is contracted to Delegat's Wine Estate Limited. Strategic direction is with the board, comprising two representatives from Delegat's and three independent directors. The board also retains an independent Viticultural Consultant.
